THE 2008 POINTS SYSTEM
For the end of year championship awards
1st 100 points
2nd 70 points
3rd 60 points
4th 40 points
5th 30 points
6th 20 points
All other members entering a class will gain 10 points each
The first member placed will gain 100 points; the following members
will gain the respective points.
At each show the points will accumulate and the member with the highest points after the 3 shows will be awarded the overall championship trophy at the annual point’s show presentation evening on Friday 21st November at the Village Hotel, Otley Road, LEEDS.
At each of the 3 annual points’ show, there will be a championship for both Ridden classes and In-hand classes. Both will be judged separately on the day and the 1st and 2nd winners in all showing classes will be invited to be judged for the Championship Rosettes after the In hand (approx. lunchtime) and Ridden (approx. 5/6pm) showing classes have been completed. Rosettes will be awarded to the 2 winners. This is not
a point’s class and points will not be awarded for the annual championship.

Neither the club nor any officer thereof shall be liable to any person for any loss of or damage to any property occurring from whatever cause in or about the showground, nor for any animal or personal injury sustained by persons/animals competing or whilst on, entering or leaving the showground. A notice to this effect shall at all times be displayed in a prominent position on the showground.
POINTS SHOW RULES
No coughing Horses.
No entrant will be allowed to take part in any riding or jumping event
if not correctly dressed. A show/hacking jacket must be worn at all times in any mounted class. A riding hat with chinstrap or safety harness,
made to BSI Specifications, must be worn at all times whilst mounted
on the show ground. No cycling helmets. The use of a back protector
is recommended.
No reckless riding or misuse of whips or spurs.
Stallions to wear a Red/White/Blue ribbon in tail and a Stallion badge
in bridle at all times whilst on the showground.
The judge’s decision is final. In the event of a complaint, a £5 note
will be deposited with the show committee & will be refunded if the complaint is upheld.
Each competitor is responsible for their attendance at each class they have entered. If the competitor has entered 2 classes that are running at the same time, the competitor must inform the Judge’s stewards in both rings, who will endeavour to fit the competitor in both classes.
NO ENTRY FEES REFUNDED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE
We recommend that all persons have personal & third party insurance.
Horses & Ponies aged 3 years or under are eligible for in-hand classes only. Dogs must be kept on a lead and young children to be under close adult supervision, at all times.
With exception of jumping classes, one rider/handler may enter only one horse/pony in each class. The person on the entry sheet must be the person showing the horse/pony in the ring.
The committee of HRC reserves the right to refuse entry or make any alteration or cancellation to the schedule.
No cantering is allowed outside the rings unless in a designated warm-up area. The warm-up areas are provided for competitors only. Any person or Horse/Pony behaving in a manner likely to affect the safety or equipment of others adversely will be asked to leave the showground.

Ideal 1st Timer Ridden class open to all who have not been placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a ridden show class (excluding lead rein). The perfect starter class for novice showers of all ages. Individual show not required. To be judged on ability of rider.
